Harley-Davidson XLCH
Technical Details
  • Year Built : 1969
  • Engine : 900 cc OHV
  • Transmission : 4-Speed
  • Electrics : Fairbanks-Morse magneto, 12 Volt DC generator
  • Notable Features : A 1969 XLCH might not be Harley-Davidson's best Sportster but it was the last of its kind and the end of an era. After ' 69 the CH model's signature " chromed tin " primary cover and Fairbanks-Morse magneto were gone forever. But the motorcycle displayed here lives on, It retains its original factory paint - the optional Sparkling Burgundy - and the balance of the machine is equally original including Goodyear tires, Borrani alloy rims, white seat, and the quirky Tillotson carb that was usually replaced. How the OE headers and torpedo mufflers survived or were saved remains a mystery but there they are, The front fender was chopped so at some point the forks might have been extended although my seller didn't know, We have been searching for an original paint fender without luck, For everything else the pictures will suffice to tell the story, It's not the cleanest example going but it is correct, Take a look - " They don't build 'em like they used to.
