Technical Details
  • Year Built : 1967
  • Engine : 250 cc Two-stroke single
  • Transmission : 5-Speed
  • Electrics : Femsa flywheel magneto with points
  • Notable Features : Bultaco introduced their Model-42 Pursang in early 1967, The MK 2 motor was redesigned and it now incorporated a 5-speed transmission, Revamped cylinders utilized a side-exiting exhaust port which allowed cycle frames to be built with single front down tube construction, This Pursang was purchased March 2003 from a long-time enthusiast in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Although the motor had been rebuilt it was disassembled for inspection, Early Bultaco transmissions could have been manufactured with better materials & tempering and the countershaft was found to be worn beyond tolerance, New parts were located & purchased, The motor was blue-printed and carefully reassembled, Frame & motor numbers show to be matching, The frame was repainted and when stripped to bare metal its numbers clearly show to be factory originals, Engine cases however could be replacements and restamped, Serial # is : M42-00100
