  • Notable Features : Builder / Owner was Bill Marks, For years Bill was employed at the Fort Worth Harley-Davidson dealership, Factory-trained in the early 1960's his knowledge & motor building talents were highly regarded, " Back in the Day " this XLCH was raced at well-known drag strips throughout North Texas such as Caddo Mills, Bill had two motors for it, The photo shows the bike with the 80 + inch motor installed, Second motor is the factory original 1964 unit and its capacity is 77 ", Both are modified with Doc Dytch cylinders having 3.250 " bores, The Dytch cylinders are Doc's highest tensile castings capable of withstanding nitromethane fuel, Flywheels with altered strokes create the different displacements, The heads have typical porting & polishing with big valves installed, Carburetor is the late model Linkert DC type, All camshafts are by Sifton, Minus-Minus grinds are in the big motor, Special one-off Siftons are in the " small mill ", Cycle with its generator is fully street legal and runs on gasoline, Quarter-mile times were in the high-11 to low-12 second range, Speeds attained at the end of a quarter-mile run were aprox 115 MPH.
