  • Notable Features : Nearing the end of 1981 Pete Zylstra in Harley's Race Dept. advised that only three 1980 XR-750 models remained available, All three were purchased, Cycle displayed is # 153 of aprox 200 built, Delivered to Harley-Davidson of Macon Georgia, Picked-up at their dealership after Daytona Speed Week March 1982, Kosman rear disc with Grimeca caliper & master cylinder was added, Wheels re-laced with Buchanan's SS spoke sets, OE front hub was upgraded with a Barnes item for safety & performance, Modern Goodyear DT II tires were needed replacements for the old-style Carlisle & Pirelli treads, Boge Mulholland shocks replace S&W units, Frame and swing arm remain perfectly original & uncut, Motor blue-printed and reassembled at Best H-D without modifications, Cams remain E grind, AE pistons provide 10.5:1 CR, Mikuni VM series carbs are 36 mm, No fuel other than Phillips B-32 or Track Tek TT-111 has been used, Raced successfully at Boyd Raceway and Devil's Bowl Speedway in Mesquite,Texas. Used in amateur and vintage class competition the motorcycle has never been down or damaged, No mechanical malfunctions have occurred, The 1980 XR-750 racers are significant and highly collectible as no other complete factory-built dirt trackers have been produced by Harley-Davidson.
